We’re extraordinarily lucky here. Surrounded by people who inspire and support. Nick and Erica creators and owners of SPRUCE are a prime exemplification. Listen in as Nick and Erica share their story of how they got started and are continuing to grow over some delicious Noble Creature Cask House’s Good for the Goose. #shoplocal #drinklocal #supportlocal
Did you know movie theaters can be local too? Meet Frank Moses one of the owners of Golden Star Theaters Austintown Cinema. When the national company Regal stepped away, Frank and his brothers saw an opportunity to create an amazing luxury theater experience right here in the Valley. Keeping it local, they even have our local beers from our talented brewers ready to serve. Sipping on some BIRDFISH BREWING CO., Frank tells is the ins and outs of owning a theater and all the improvements they’ve made in their Austintown location. Nothing beats the experience of watching a blockbuster in the theater, and nothing beats movie theater popcorn. #supportlocal #drinklocal
After speaking with Marisa Sergi of Luva Bella Winery for 5 minutes, you learn very quickly that this young woman is a force to be reckoned with. She definitely drives home the fact that passion, endurance, and willfulness are major components to being a successful innovator and entrepreneur.
OH WOW Science Center partner’s with our local brewers to create the perfect fundraising event, Science of Brewing. It truly does empcompass the essense of what the breweries are all about, helping to strengthen our communities and OH WOW!’s Wowtastic Edutainment!
And a BIG shoutout and THANK YOU to Noble Creature Cask House, Paladin Brewing, Penguin City Beer, Numbers Brewing Company, Biker BrewHouse, Sundog Cellars Ciderhouse & Winery, Woodland Cellars, Michael Alberini’s, Bistro 1907 by Mark Canzonetta, A Movable Feast, Kravitz Deli, and so many others for helping make this event happen.
Erin Lonsway with Bella Amica, another downtown Youngstown business, stopped by Youngstown Studio to sit with Lisa Resnick of Homes and Hops to talk about her love of Youngstown, and how she wanted to be part of its growth. And of course we enjoyed our conversation over a delicious Penguin City Beer.
The man behind Youngstown Studio, Joe Danyi… Constantly creating and thinking outside the box has been the key to Joe’s success… along with his constant determination and growth. It was great to hear how Youngstown Studio came to be, and how he plans to continue to expand his footprint in the industry. Joe is doing AMAZING things.
One of the major bonuses of moving the studio downtown… being in a central location for awesome people like Meteorologist Andrew DiPaolo at 21 WFMJ to easily walk over to say hi. It was a great time catching up with my friend over some delicious BIRDFISH BREWING CO. beer.
A new trend that I only see growing in popularity… Food and Beer, pairings that are spot on! Collaborations and creativity are key. As Elisa Veon of Babcia’s Lunchbox best stated what she is doing is being a “cultural evangelist” sharing the culture and sharing the history of her heritage through food. And Modern Methods Brewing Company has the same mindset, from the name of their brewery to the flavors of their beers. So these two together are the perfect pair through food, beverage and podcast guests. Thank you Sarah Keck and Elisha Veon for sharing your history and bringing to us a way to enjoy our history and learning other cultures through taste.
Andrew DiPaolo, WFMJ, Sundog Cellars founder Nicole Ice, a whole lot of laughter, a little debauchery, and calling DiPaolo out on the forecast. There’s not really much else to say. Enjoy.
